This last month has been mostly about not wearing a lot of makeup.. yet I have so much of it to use up! Seriously though, I have been busy at work so it requires me getting ready in record timing which means no time to fuss about with 6 colour eye shadow combinations. Instead I've been using 2 :-P
Ok there's 3 shadows here but I alternate between shroom and hey all over the lid and satin taupe in the crease. Personally I like hey + satin taupe the best. No eye liner, just mascara.
Hey was a limited edition eye shadow from the Prep For Colour collection, and as a veluxe pearl, it's just lovely over the lid.
What I love about satin taupe is that you barely have to touch it to get that colour payoff. Next up we have a new eye shadow primer, Too Faced Shadow Insurance:
And yes I'm going to whinge about the smell. Seriously, it does not impress me and I wasn't so sure about the 'greasiness' of this formula but it *does* dry quickly and it's one of the best primers I've used to date. I will most likely repurchase when this one runs out, and I'm almost there :-S
Onto the 'mixed feelings'. I'm not going to say dislikes because it's simply not true. I just need to complain ;-) And I'm very sad that the By Terry Rose de Rose is here. Not for the formula, the gorgeous smell of roses or the beautiful colour this leaves on the cheeks but for the darn pump. If you use this every day it wouldn't dry up, but I left this for about a month and yeah, I had an 'incident' which involved a good amount of the product exploding all over my vanity. And that hurt because this liquid blush cost me $110. Worth it? Nooo but I love walking and having the smell of roses on my cheeks. I don't care if it doesn't last all day, I feel pretty. The shade I own is Coral Rose and it's lovely, but I feel pain every time I waste a bit. Oh well!
Next is the Covergirl lashblast volume. Sigh. This is brilliant on the lower lashes and picks every single one up but for my top lashes... I get it everywhere and it's not easy to remove so I have to put my mascara on *first* otherwise I take off my eye shadow before I can get the mascara off. And I do wait for it to dry. Doesn't help. I guess I'm one of those people that prefers 'lash separation' to volume. I think I'll either pick up the Loreal telescopic again or go back to my semi waterproof clinique mascara. I loved it dearly.
Whoopsie how did this get here!? I had the mp3 version of this album from my brother but I wanted my own copy. And I found it in JB Hi-fi for $10 so how could I resist. Excuse me now, I have to be domino dancing @_@

Illamasqua Jo'Mina Nail Polish
I was watching the first episode of Modern Family lastnight so I figured I had time to paint my nails with this lovely Illamasqua nail polish, Jo'mina. Poke is next to it because I bought both at the same time :-)
It was a dream to apply, not streaky at all. Such a nice glossy finish that I was just ooh pretty nails. Then went and ruined it with a top coat :-P Oh well!
So my room doesn't get a lot of light in the morning and Canberra has been all doom and gloom lately. But you get the idea.
Gorgeous colour, lovely formula. I will definitely be picking up more when I'm on vacation next month! Although with the dollar crashing horribly maybe not as much as I initially thought :-|

Ahh what have I been doing?!
I haven't been buying a lot of makeup recently, or wearing it for that matter! It's turned horribly cold in Canberra and I'm not really in the makeup mood. Maybe a bit of nail polish on eBay here and there but I'm not really focused on much except my upcoming trip to Hawaii. I need to plan an itinerary, so I've been reading these:
Today I picked up the Top 10 book and that's the one I'll probably take to read on the plane :-) I've been so busy lately, getting money sorted and making plans for a short trip to QLD before Hawaii. On top of that I've got this study to do outside of work that takes up too much of my time. Anyway, on the weekend I bought a new suitcase, hopefully this will be big enough to take back all my desired makeup and nail polish? :-)
My current suitcase is fairly worn from taking it back home every holidays and all over Australia really. Always seem to be going *somewhere*. Then I thought hmm, I could go a new bag and picked this up:
Compartments galore! The bottom is expandable too, so it fits my big Nikon P80 and the bf will take the SLR. I probably won't even remember how to USE my P80 I've been using the SLR so much. But we need a camera each because we're photo obsessed. Then I'm also taking the water proof camera for snorkeling. I would like to do a 'day in the life photo log' style blog post each day I'm there but I don't know how much time I'll have for that. If not I'll do it when I get back :-D
I was going to paint my nails that new Illamasqua nail polish Jo'mina, but felt like burning some choc chip muffins instead :-|
I'll make a very belated monthly favourites post sometime this week!

Woohoo my Illamasqua arrived!
I have an unhealthy nail polish addiction it seems. I wasn't particularly fussed about the latest illamasqua body electrics collection until I spotted a lilac nail polish... well it said lilac but the online picture isn't overly accurate because this is JoMina (on the left):
Yeah, doesn't really compare to the online swatch. Which is good because I LOVE the actual colour :-D And while I was googling swatches of other purple polishes I decided to order poke as well. Both absolutely gorgeous. This makes up for me not getting that purple duo they had a while back...
Only bad thing was the delivery time. Not a fault of Illamasqua I don't think as my order was shipped immediately and my tracking was updated shortly after. But it took a month to get here :-| It got to the point where my tracking number became invalid. So I was getting super paranoid and half expecting my package to appear on the next Aussie Border Security! Sometimes these things happen though. I remember my Benefit order took *forever* the first time I ordered, then the second order was super quick. It won't stop me from making another order the next time I spy a pretty nail polish ;-)
Oh I think the kicker was that it took a month to get here, then I read the bottom of the label and it says "Manufactured in Australia". My friends laughed at me for that.

Sephora By OPI - Iris I Was Thinner and It's Bouquet With Me
I haven't been posting much lately. I have been busy at work and I felt really crap after my flu shot this year. I've also been madly cleaning the house for a rent inspection. Now that I've stopped using cleaning products, it was time to do my nails :-) Presenting the Sephora by OPI mini's from the modern flower gift set: Iris I Was Thinner + It's Bouquet With Me (glitter polish):
Aren't they cute! I really want full sizes of these polishes now. It was really quite awkward to apply with such a small brush but I got there in the end :-) And if you are wondering HOW small they are, here they are next to a full sized Sephora by OPI:
Sitting next to mummy Metro Chic, they look even more adorable! After two coats, I was getting paranoid about using too much nail polish and decided to leave it, so some nails are still a bit patchy:
The It's Bouquet With Me glitter polish has purple and silver glitter, with larger round silver glitter mixed in. Absolutely gorgeous:
I would very much like to purchase the full size versions of these but I doubt they'll be there next month when I go on vacation to Hawaii!
