The Lipstick Tag!

Hello everyone! I was tagged by Vita at Making Up 4 My Age to do the Lipstick tag :-) I know I started off this blog with a very heavy makeup obsession so I was excited to get back into it for a bit. But I love my nail polish so I thought I'd begin with a little lippie nail art ;-)

A quickie nail art design using OPI Totally Fort Worth It as the base colour, Illamasqua Boosh and Throb for the lippie (and on the thumb I did an outline with OPI Curry up don't be late but didn't like it :-)

Onto the tag! This tag is a few quick questions about our experience with lipstick. Fun!

1. When you were a child, did you use your mother's lipsticks? Yes, but not on myself I don't think! I may have drawn on my mum while she was sleeping... O_O

2. How old were you when you bought your first lipstick? Honestly can't remember exactly but I believe I was in high school and it was a horribly dark brownish currant colour and I dearly regret it :-| Oh the 90s. Oh wait my first lipstick mum bought me but it was fluoro (yes fluoro) pink and it was so freaking awesome. I wish I still had it. I was probably about 9.

3. Pink or red lipstick? Pink. But not cool pink, that looks horrid on me. Warm pink.

4. The most expensive lipstick you have ever bought? A Chanel rouge coco lippie which I ended up giving to my mother!

5. And the cheapest? Hmm I think an Australis lippie. They probably don't make the colour or kind anymore, it was a long time ago...

6. What's the most bizarre thing you have ever done with a lipstick? When I was a little girl I was obsessed with the movie The Labyrinth (it's my favourite movie and soundtrack to date actually) and there's this part where the main character Sarah is walking through a maze. She gets lost and ends up drawing arrows on the stone tiled floor with red lipstick to mark which way she had gone. When I was little I used to play in my backyard pretending I was in that maze and mark random stones in the yard with lipstick :-P

7. If you had to recommend a lipstick, which brand would you recommend and why? I haven't had a lot of brand experience but I love my NARS lippie (I have Cruising). It's moisturizing and just such a great formula in general. The smell is odd to me though. It's familiar but I can't seem to figure out what it is yet or what it reminds me of...

Well that is it, I hope you enjoyed this tag and I would love it if anyone else did this tag or wanted to comment on their own experiences :-) Have a lovely week everyone and bring on the weekend!

Current favourites

This last month has been mostly about not wearing a lot of makeup.. yet I have so much of it to use up! Seriously though, I have been busy at work so it requires me getting ready in record timing which means no time to fuss about with 6 colour eye shadow combinations. Instead I've been using 2 :-P

Ok there's 3 shadows here but I alternate between shroom and hey all over the lid and satin taupe in the crease. Personally I like hey + satin taupe the best. No eye liner, just mascara.

Hey was a limited edition eye shadow from the Prep For Colour collection, and as a veluxe pearl, it's just lovely over the lid.

What I love about satin taupe is that you barely have to touch it to get that colour payoff. Next up we have a new eye shadow primer, Too Faced Shadow Insurance:

And yes I'm going to whinge about the smell. Seriously, it does not impress me and I wasn't so sure about the 'greasiness' of this formula but it *does* dry quickly and it's one of the best primers I've used to date. I will most likely repurchase when this one runs out, and I'm almost there :-S

Onto the 'mixed feelings'. I'm not going to say dislikes because it's simply not true. I just need to complain ;-) And I'm very sad that the By Terry Rose de Rose is here. Not for the formula, the gorgeous smell of roses or the beautiful colour this leaves on the cheeks but for the darn pump. If you use this every day it wouldn't dry up, but I left this for about a month and yeah, I had an 'incident' which involved a good amount of the product exploding all over my vanity. And that hurt because this liquid blush cost me $110. Worth it? Nooo but I love walking and having the smell of roses on my cheeks. I don't care if it doesn't last all day, I feel pretty. The shade I own is Coral Rose and it's lovely, but I feel pain every time I waste a bit. Oh well!

Next is the Covergirl lashblast volume. Sigh. This is brilliant on the lower lashes and picks every single one up but for my top lashes... I get it everywhere and it's not easy to remove so I have to put my mascara on *first* otherwise I take off my eye shadow before I can get the mascara off. And I do wait for it to dry. Doesn't help. I guess I'm one of those people that prefers 'lash separation' to volume. I think I'll either pick up the Loreal telescopic again or go back to my semi waterproof clinique mascara. I loved it dearly.

Whoopsie how did this get here!? I had the mp3 version of this album from my brother but I wanted my own copy. And I found it in JB Hi-fi for $10 so how could I resist. Excuse me now, I have to be domino dancing @_@

Love That Look - Kristen Stewart

So I'm sitting here, home from work, experiencing what I can only call Sneezefest 2010 when the bf brings home some trashy mags for me to read. I grab the one with Kristen Stewart on it and go 'ooh I wonder what eye shadow that is' and it occurs to me that the look on her face is exactly how I feel today. So I decided to play with some darker colours and create my own spin on this look below:

It's a little washed out but it appears to be a more reddish brown look she's got going on but I am going to use a more golden brown, consisting of:

  • MAC Prep+Prime Eye all over lid, under and up to brow

  • MAC Constructivist paint pot as a base, not going past the crease (also going under the eye)

  • NARS Galapagos eye shadow over the paint pot, blended with MAC 217

  • Flip between the brown eye shadow and just below the brow, blended again

  • Manila Paper in the inner corner

Add a whole bunch of mascara, particularly on the lower lashes and this is what I came up with:

I obviously didn't include the whole face shot where my nose is horribly red and the rest of my face deathly pale. This look is a LOT darker than this photo shows so it's not something I'm going to mosey on down to the corner shop in ;-) Great night look though.

Alternative colours I tried included the smoke & mirrors eye shadow from last year's holiday collection but I found it was too dark. I think creole beauty would be fine too (and aztec brick for that sheen) but the NARS galapagos eye shadow has this gorgeous golden sparkle to it (if you don't spoil it too much by over blending ;-) It really sparkles under the lower lashes.

Well I'm going to go pass out now and maybe later actually *read* this magazine, heh.

March Faves

I haven't been posting lately... the bf managed to get sick and I was busy preparing to catch it so I was doing everything before I became incapacitated... which hasn't happened yet so I thought I'd bulk post today :-) I don't have a lot of favourites this month, and they are all makeup related.

  • Clinique Quick Eyes Cream Shadow (sparkling nude): I was very excited to try these as an eye shadow base. They are supposedly meant to last 10hours but I don't know if you're meant to use a primer. I would use a primer underneath these (whereby I managed to make it last 12hrs+). Without the primer, it started to fade and crease closer to 8hours. Overall I love this (also have starlit pink) and it really brightens your shadow. I tend to pack it on more in the corner to highlight better :-)

  • MAC Crème d’Nude lipstick: If you can tell by the picture above, I was going for a very bronze and neutral look this month. I like a lippy I don't need to wear a gloss over. This one got a fair workout in March, but definitely had to condition the lips first!

  • MAC Rubenesque paint pot: Ah paint pots. Luck of the draw really with these. Sometimes they're hard to work with, other times they're wonderful. Luckily for me, my rubenesque paint pot melts like butter and is very easy to apply. I cannot say the same for my Artifact paint pot which requires a brush and a LOT of patience. I am tempted to move it back into the bathroom near the heat lamps... Anyway, this colour really brings out the colours in the Spring Colour 4 quad pictured above. Simply stunning combination.

  • MAC Gleam Eyeshadow: I haven't been wearing this for a while as it's a lustre but it's a gorgeous sparkly coral which I've been using to blend and bring out the colours of the quad pictured above. I also tend to use it with woodwinked and grand entrance.

  • MAC Spring Colour 4 quad: Love love love this quad. There's no satin finishes in this quad so they all pack on a lot of colour, and they're so easy to work with. It's simply love. If you're like me and already have a bunch of neutrals to work with, you can vary your look throughout the week whilst still using the same quad.

  • MAC Mineralize Blush (duo) in Rhapsody in Two: I have very fair skin but since I've been doing bright bronze eyes lately I've just been using this blush on it's own rather than a highlight. A few times I've put Benefit Coralista underneath. It's shocking that I have finally put down By Candlelight MSF for more than a week, but this is a good substitute for me :-)

  • Benefit Powderflage: This colour correcting finishing powder is meant for under the eyes, under the nose on the sides and also above the nose. Together with my concealer, this adds a lot of light to the area and a bit of sparkle. The brush that comes with the powderflage is rubbish and I don't recommend using it. Unless you've got nothing else ;-) I just find that it's horribly scratchy on my skin. For me, it helps under the eyes but did wonders under the nose, where it tends to get red on the sides. Definitely a problem area for me so this works well.

Well that's it for my faves. Sadly a lot of MAC, but it's good to finally be using so much of it consistently. Purchases now justified :-D

Love That Look - Spring Colour Forecast

In my previous post I displayed my latest MAC haul from the Spring Colour Forecast Collection. I decided to play with the shadows today and created a very bright, very orange look:

I used the whole Spring Colour 4 quad, as well as Straw Harvest (an orange veluxe pearl) from Spring Colour 2, Too Faced Shadow Insurance as a primer, along with a 213 fluff, 217 blending and 239 shading eye shadow brush:

Since manila paper is a veluxe pearl, I found it better in the corner of the eye instead of a highlight, it would have been too much shimmer. So we have Manila Paper in the very corner, Straw Harvest on the first half of the lid, Aztec Brick on the second half. Creole Beauty in the outer crease/v and to soften the gradient from straw harvest to Aztec Brick - blend together with Flip.

It may not be spring here, but these colours are nicely suited to autumn weather. I love how the leaves of trees change colour here, it doesn't happen up north where I'm from :-)

Anyway, hope you enjoy. Back to my George Michael live in London dvd :-)

MAC Spring Colour Forecast Collection - Electric Fuchsia Lipglass

I restrained myself fairly well with this collection. It was too big to go overboard, so I picked up a couple of things I knew I wanted, and a couple of 'why not' items.

I was mainly after the Electric Fuchsia lip glass and the blush. Then got tempted by the colour 4 quad and went 'ooh pretty' at the single eye shadows (sigh). Above we have the colour 4 quad, Straw Harvest Eye Shadow (veluxe pearl), Electric Fuchsia lipglass and Azalea Blossom blush ombre.

Electric Fuchsia lipglass. Clearly I can't wear this everyday, but it was so bright so vibrant, I had to get it. I love the boldness of this colour, and how it changes in different lights. So much more purple in darker lights, and pink in bright light.

It has this gorgeous blue sparkle to it:

So maybe I won't be wearing this all that often but there's nothing wrong with parading around the house in your track pants whilst wearing it, as I did sunday :-) New and unique MAC lip glasses are for the win. I'm such a neutral makeup hoarder so this lip glass brings something to the collection.

Back to 'safe' purchases. Here we have a great neutral quad. I'm very cautious about buying quads. They have to be pigmented. This quad has two veluxe pearls (one of my favourite finishes): manila paper (top left) and aztec brick (bottom left) and two frosts. This picture is slightly over exposed so refer to the image above for a better colour representation. Manila paper is more yellow-beige than this close up shows. Generally, if there's more than one satin (heh at first wrote satan) in the quad/palette I eye it suspiciously and back away slowly... that said, I *am* lusting after the grey satin finish eye shadow in the upcoming Liberty of London collection.

Regrets? Not getting the crush metal pigment (stack 1). Already sold out online. Then again, am I *really* going to open messy pigment containers on a daily basis? Probably not. And the colours... reds/purples. Me blue eyes. Pass. Then the other stack had greens! Bah!

Beauty Haul preview

Bad Leanne! Meant to be saving for holidays and what do I do? Oh let me show you:

Particularly exxy purchases include NARS Cruising lipstick from the Spring collection, the By Terry Baume de rose and a number of benefit things... What's worse is that I have an online kit cosmetics purchase still to come. Gah!

I'm yet to try the By Terry, but I have already fallen in love with Cruising. I am thankful I don't already have something similar in my collection. Even the bf noticed the new shade!

Things I still want but don't have: the NARS Kuala Lumpur duo eyeshadow and the NARS Orgasm illuminator. Sigh.

Clinique Quick Eyes Cream Shadow

I was having a pretty average afternoon (teeth or moreso lack thereof) so I walked down to the shops for more up & go drinks. I perused the Clinique counter of Myer on the way out and couldn't help but pick up these two cream shadows I have been lusting after:

These are Starlit Pink and Sparling Nude. Rock Violet is also shown below. Didn't buy rock violet but it's very nice! I have been going on a bit of a spending spree lately so I need to curb the spending and save for my Hawaii holiday in June :-)

I had two eye shadows in mind when I bought these cream shadows: MAC Ego and Grand Entrance (not sure which collection but they're the starflash finishes). I want to use less of my precious limited edition shadow and brighten them up a bit. I have just tried starlit pink under Ego and it works well. Definitely brighter. These supposedly have a 10 hour staying power but we shall see :-| I did notice the swatch on my hand go a bit crumbly, but it was more evenly distributed on my eyes. So hopefully it just doesn't peel off as I'm imagining! The only off putting thing for me is the smell of these shadows. I have a very sensitive sense of smell so the chemical whiff I get from these is a disappointment. But hey, after being spoilt by the apricot souffle scent of Benefit's FY Eye primer, you'd be disappointed too :-) Overall these are very nice cream shadows and at 37AUD, swatch and choose carefully!

The swatches: MAC Viva Glam, Too Fabulous, Mary Kay

So finally feeling more like myself again and have been able to take some better photos of my latest makeup haul :-) Here we have a look at MAC's Too Fabulous collection. I got two of the mineralize blush duos. This is Rhapsody in two:

Definitely the 'safe' purchase for me. The colours are light, coraly pink and not too heavy. Nice for my pale skin. This next one was a bit of a gamble for me, but I could not resist these colours! Two virtues:

I was using a dodgey clinique freebie brush of some kind to do these swatches and I really struggled to get the two virtues purple on my skin. Very crumbly these blushes:

I think these are a bit expensive for what they are! They were 50AUD each and they are much smaller than a MSF which is 46AUD. But still, new makeup to play with :-) Definitely cheered me up post surgery!

Here we have the Creme D' Nude, Viva Glam Gaga and Viva Glam Cyndi swatches. I was so worried about getting the nude lippie, but it actually looks nice on my lips! Then again I am going through that nude phase :-P Gaga however, does not. It's a bright blue pink lippie but I knew that it probably wouldn't suit, I just bought it because it's Lady Gaga and I love her music. Can't wait to see her in concert this month too! I was fully :-O at the telephone video clip. Ahem. Where was I. The Cyndi lippie is much more wearable (for me at least) and naturally these swatches are quite built up so a bit of a swipe of these lustre lippies isn't going to make you look horrible. I actually stuck the Mary Kay cream & sugar gloss over the gaga lippie and it looked very nice. Speaking of which:

These are both lovely lip glosses. The price is shocking to me although I don't know why, it's still less than MAC (25AUD vs 34AUD and I believe Mary Kay has more product). I originally just wanted a pink diamonds replacement but I decided to get another to try out :-) They are very perfumed! It smells a bit sickly sweet vanillary to me but I don't mind it. Just like I don't mind the sickly sweetness of Lush Snow Fairy shower gel! But it may not be for all. The glosses have decent pigmentation and are not thick and sticky. So that's a win for me. Definitely *some* stickiness but nothing like clinique lip glosses which I hate because they are so sticky. Or even MAC stickiness. Honestly I go on a swearing fit if I'm stuck wearing lipgloss on a windy day and I haven't tied my hair back. It fires me up so much!

The glosses are more moisturizing than MAC and for me they feel much nicer to wear if you can get past the strong scent. I actually had to get these through my mum because she was the only one who knew a Mary Kay consultant (sigh). I'm interested to try more colours but I shouldn't because I already have too many lip glosses... and they do go off after a while.

MAC Viva Glam, Too Fabulous and Mary Kay

Hello! I survived my dental surgery (went under to get all four wisdom teeth removed). Only one had partially broken through but they were all so the wrong way I had to get them out. I'm not out of the woods yet but so far, so good... My bf has been looking after me so well, so thankful to have someone to get me through this! It sucks not having parents in the same state as you :-( The pain is terrible, but I'm fairly drugged at the moment and I've just had a nestle choccy mousse, so with 5 minutes of energy, let me share with you what arrived in the mail today:

My mum (love her) sent me my requested Mary Kay lip glosses in Pink Diamonds and Cream & Sugar. I first got Pink Diamonds years ago when it was in much funkier packaging. Slightly disappointed with the repackaged look but oh well, same product! And it still smells the same so that's good (quite vanilla-ery I believe).

Monday (the day before surgery) I noticed Viva Glam was finally up - I've been holding out on the Too Fabulous blushes because I was waiting for my precious lady gaga lipstick. And with the free shipping for orders over $60, it was a nice present to cheer myself up with. I of course got both Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper lustre lippies (swatches to come when I'm not so swollen/miserable). I also got Creme D' Nude but with the pale lips I woke up with today, one wonders why I even bothered :-P But seriously, my lips SHOULD return to their natural darker shade when everything has healed a bit better. I can't even shut my mouth right now so I look fairly dopey.

Here is another close up so you can appreciate the gorgeousness of the gaga lippie. I was only going to get the Rhapsody in Two blush, but then I googled for a Two Virtues swatch and I was sold! Although I feel it will be similar to the spring forecast blushes that I also desire. We shall see...

Well my 5 minutes is up and I'm starting to feel pain again. Time to lie back down and continue my bed riddeness :-(

February Faves... blog style!

I thought I'd do a quick blog post of my feb faves. More of a 2010 faves the way I've been going with these products ;-)

My faves include:

  • MAC eye shadows in Ego, Shale and Shroom: I've been wearing this combo for a while now with Ego over the lid, focusing on the inner corner, shale on the crease and blending out towards the brow with Shroom. Shroom + Shale = really pretty. It's subtle but noticeable.

  • MAC 239 brush. This brush really packs on colour. It's my new fave brush. Don't worry 213 fluff brush, I still love you!

  • Hue lipstick - Brought this back from Perth and have been wearing it everyday to work since. Better swatch down below so you can appreciate its loveliness.

  • Runway fave lipglass - A nude gloss that I was wearing before I got Hue :-)

  • So sweet, so easy - Cremeblend blush that came out with the online only collection MAC in lillyland. VERY pink so you only need a little bit. It's nice on my pale white skin without my yellow based makeup. Gives a nice natural flush.

  • By candlelight MSF - I wear this every single day, I love it. Mind you I don't have any others to choose from :-P Highlight across checks on top of the blush is just perfect. Photographs nicely too!

  • Clinique bewitched eye shadow - I got this YEARS ago but I was rummaging around in my clinique drawer (yes there's a whole drawer) and I rediscovered this little freebie. It's nice because it has two shadows plus a mirror! I used to use the peach colour a lot but I was looking for a dark matte brown to use with my MAC 266 brush. I wanted to darken my brows with my new blonde foils. This colour has been really good for that.

As you can see above, so sweet, so easy is very bright. Although I imagine not as bright as florida would have been. I've been looking for a pinker blush, I seem to have mostly peachy corals. I'm planning on getting well dressed soon so I'll compare that to this blush.

Currently thinking I need to purchase an Ego backup. It was limited edition though but the starflash shadows are SO nice. Bit too much fallout, but nicely pigmented and shimmery. Got my grand entrance backup, Ego to follow? Hmm...

Well this will be the last from me for a little while. Probably til next weekend so not really that long :-P I have surgery on Tuesday (more info when/IF I come out ok). I have been freaking out for the last, oh, 2 months :-| Excuse me while I re-read this scary booklet titled Anaesthesia & you :-(

New Benefit Goodies

So my benefit cosmetics order from over a month ago finally arrived. I knew it would take forever - it was the same shipping type Amazon (for orders to Australia). This basically means it stops in every country on Earth and spends a few days travelling to the moon and back before it gets to you :-P But the dollar was good at the time and I couldn't resist the new (well WAS new) items:

So the two items that I actually ordered are up the top: Nice Melons velvet eye shadow and Zone Out lipgloss.

The purchase came with a free eye shadow (on the left), a sample of benefit eye con and dr. feelgood. Always nice to receive freebies :-) I swatched the shadow and gloss lightly on my hand:

I didn't really want to use much product so the swatches are light. Nice melons has a lovely peach sheen and zone out is a shimmery beige. I don't know why I chose that colour, I'm still going through my neutral/nude phase. The benefit brochure showed a bright pink one that looks so much nicer. Benefit lipglosses smell fruity though! It reminds me of these fruit scented felt pens I had when I was, erm, maybe 4 or 5 years old. Each colour would have a different smell - red would be strawberry, green watermelon etc etc. It was a nice childhood reminder.

Overall a good purchase. I'd probably wear the gloss over a lippy since it's so sheer, but I usually do anyway. And yay for more eye shadow! I'm building up a 'travel makeup bag' so these make wonderful new additions.

MAC in Lillyland, Bodyshop and OPI Alice In Wonderland!

I have been dying for the MAC in lillyland collection to come out in Australia. Seriously. I wanted those lip gelees! I had originally decided on two (resort life and preppy, but after Lisa's blog post, I was completely sold on shift to pink! And personally I could do without the orange one, especially at 34AUD a piece.

So obviously couldn't go without the Pearlmatte face powder and thought hey while I'm at it (since there's free shipping), why not get the coconut ice nail polish:

These OPI Alice in Wonderland nail polishes came in the mail earlier this week, I'm stoked because the colours are gorgeous! I got Absolutely Alice (blue glitter) and Thanks so Muchness! (shimmery pinkish red, although I see a hint of pink glitter...)

Nail swatches to come! I also have a friend who's a body shop consultant, so I picked out these shimmer cubes eye shadow:

I'm interested to see how these go, I only swatched marshmallow (the lightest colour) and it had a good colour payoff. We shall see if this happens on the eye *suspicious look*. I'm hoping for a Veluxe Pearl / Starflash finish :-D

Well this is just a short post from me. Work is killing me right now, will have to work through the weekend :-( I'm also getting my hair done tomorrow - coloured this time. I very much hope for nice blonde foils and not ORANGE!

MAC Haul of sorts...

MAC had free shipping for orders over $60 on the Australian website. Well I have no MAC counter/store here so I thought bargain! Yeah it was for the first two products I added to my cart. Not when I got up to nine products :-| At least I wasn't fully suckered into the Warm & Cozy and Love Lace collections. Only got a MSF ;-) I read a lot of reviews on the shadesticks and they weren't overly positive so I skipped. I made up for it with paint pots. Well this is certainly the biggest black box I've received so far :-P

  • By Candlelight Mineralize Skin Finish

  • Constructivist Paint Pot

  • Rubenesque Paint Pot

  • All That Glitters Eye Shadow

  • Expensive Pink Eye Shadow

  • Studio Finish Concealer NW20

  • Viva Glam V Lipstick (yay for being in stock again)

  • 217 Blending Brush

  • Pencil Sharpener (can't for the life of me find my other one...)

In all honesty, I've had a rubbish week of working long hours and training so I've only been able to use the brush, MSF (so lovely by the way) and the lippy. Got the lipstick as a 'safe' lipstick to take with me travelling but it's almost disappointing how close to my lip colour it is. Going through a nude phase right now so maybe I should have picked something different... but I was too scared :-P MAC lippies are an expensive mistake to make! I did swatch the two eye shadows and pretty much squealed with delight when I saw expensive pink. I love the Veluxe Pearl finishes. Woodwinked is going to be very happy with its new friends and I can give grand entrance a rest.

I'm heading to Lush tomorrow so hopefully get some Valentine's goodies :-) Also need to pick up an eyebrow pencil at the Clinique counter so I might mosey on past the OPI stand (like I need MORE after I my recent Alice in Wonderland order) and perhaps Dior and YSL. Darn you youtube.

Love That Look - Smoke & Mirrors

Last year I went a little overboard with the MAC holiday collection. Ordered both of the lip bags, and the eye bag with black liner, and the Smoke & Mirrors palette (to start with...) Photos of these are actually on my flickr badge on the side.

Well I was initially disappointed with the Smoke & Mirrors eye shadow palette:

  • Fire In Here Eyes (F)

  • Wide-eyed Wonder (F)

  • Black Magique (V)

  • Spell No. 9 (S)

  • Deception (F)

  • Smoke & Mirrors (S)

The colours were so sheer, so brown, it didn't really seem all that smokey appealing to me. I used the top row today and although flash washes out colour, you get the idea. It really was a good brown smokey eye.

Products used: Benefit F.Y. Eye primer, Fire In Here Eyes all over the lid (and really coat that lid, it IS that sheer), Benefit Eye Bright in the corner of the eye, Wide-eyed Wonder in the crease, and Black Magique as a liner on the outer half. Wouldn't really say it was black though... black brown and that shimmer disappears on the lid/brush/finger/anything but the palette... In all honesty the colours individually didn't do much for me, but the combo had me going 'ooh pretty' in the mirror randomly throughout the day. Hence my very first 'Love That Look' post. Hopefully there will be many more to come, especially after my latest MAC Haul arrives...

Lush Holiday goodies

I know it's a little late, but after my last Lush post re: wanting the 2009 holiday gift set, I FORGOT to go back and buy one :-| Then I went to the local shop here on the weekend, but because of their buy 1 get 1 free deal they had sold out of Snow Fairy :-( So I bought it online (and still got the buy 1 get 1 free deal :-)

I purchased the Snow Fairy gift set and my free Christmas item was a 250g of the Snow Fairy shower gel. And I got a free sample of karma soap :-) It smells divine! Actually it just smells like lush :-P But not any of the BAD lush!

What's included in the Snow Fairy gift set:
  • 100g Snow Fairy Shower Gel
  • 30g Iridescent Glitterbug massage bar
  • 100g Angel's Delight soap

I notice that the Angel's Delight soap has gotten a glittery make over this year. Last year it was just red :-) Now it's pink and glittery with stars! It smells so fruity, I love it. I just hope the glitter doesn't annoy me. I'm sure all us lush addicts have had an incident where a lush glitter product has resulted in the entire household being covered in glitter :-| Well I know I have!

Anyway, pretty happy that I got a $16.50 shower gel free :-) If you're game enough to wait until the after xmas sales, it's worth it!

On a side note, I received a lovely handmade gift from the bf for xmas - a makeup storage shelf:

He made it so it would fit perfectly between my vanity and the wall (I don't have a lot of space in there!) I can also rearrange the shelves to different heights. I absolutely love it. I used some mugs I bought on sale and the I <3 NY mugs a friend brought back from the US recently:

I have my makeup on the shelves below (shadows, blushes, glosses, etc). He wants to make me another one for the other side! Lucky I bought two of those polka dot mugs :-) I received the email notification of the Love Lace/Warm and Cozy collections from MAC today. I hate the delay Australia has but it gives me time to peruse all the swatches on YT/blogger first :-) My point is that I'm resisting buying more make up! I must stop and save for my Hawaii trip this June! Argh!!
